Oleg Paiberdin (*1971) was born 1971 in Altay. He graduated from the Ural State Mussorgsky Conservatoire in Yekaterinburg, composition class of Anatoly Nimensky, orchestration class of Avet Terteryan. He attended masterclasses by Sergey Berinsky, Sergei Slonimsky, Avet Terterian, Georges Apergis, Pierluigi Billone, Paul-Heinz Dietrich, Rebecca Saunders, Chaya Czernowin.
Among his performers are Svetlanov State Symphony Orchestra of Russia, Ural Academic Symphony Orchestra, Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble, Studio for New Music, Romantic Quartet, Moscow Saxophone Quartet, Syrinx Flute Quartet (Moscow), eNsemble (St. Petersburg), Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart (Stuttgart), Ensemble’88 (Amsterdam), Luxembourg Sinfonietta, conductors Vladimir Yurovsky, Fyodor Lednev, Dmitry Liss, and others.
He is a winner of the Prokofiev International Composition Competition (Moscow / St. Petersburg, 1999). Fellow of Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart, International Summer Courses in Darmstadt (Germany), International Composers’ Centre in Visby (Sweden). In 2010–2012 he was one of the initiators and curators of the contemporary music festival “Anther Space” of Moscow Philharmonie. Founder, artistic director and conductor of the ensemble “Gallery of Actual Music” (GAMEnsemble). One of leaders of the project “GAMEnsemble: New Russia — New Europe”, season 2012-13. Since 2018 his works have been published by Donemus (the Netherlands) and Edition reMusik.org (Russia).
