Important Dates/Criteria:
You will be informed of the result of your application by October 4th 2021. If you are selected, you will be expected to return your completed score of up to four minutes by 8th November 2021 and you will be expected to attend the online Zoom workshop on December 12th. The workshop provisionally scheduled for 14:30 GMT. Please ensure that you are available. Spectators are welcome.
Finished works must not exceed four minutes duration.
Works may be for pedal or lever harp and may include use of loop machine – Ruth uses a Boss RC-30 with pick-ups on her acoustic harps.
Eligibility and Selection:
If you have an unperformed score already written for solo harp, you may enter this for the workshop – they do not necessarily have to be written for this call.
If you need any support in completing this application, including any accessibility requirements, please contact thearcprojectmusic@gmail.com
The selected composers will be chosen by a panel consisting of Ruth Lee (harpist and composer, Jake Adams (composer and co-project director of The Arc Project) and Jan Li Tan (pianist and co-project director of The Arc Project)
It is recognized that composers can begin their career at any age. Therefore ‘emerging’ is loosely defined by the composer themselves.
Should a composer wish to upload the workshop recording to a public platform (e.g. their website or Soundcloud) this must be agreed between the composer and performer.
