The contest is open to composers of all nationalities and ages. Each composer can apply for only one composition.
The submitted original compositions may not have been previously performed, published or awarded a prize of any kind. They must be free of any liabilities, including those with publishing houses. Sending an already-published work can lead to disqualification.
Compositions can be written in any language, trend, genre or musical form. Scores must be neat, legible, and adhere to accepted standards – attachment 2
Compositions must be inspired by the Hymn of Valle Camonica “Oi della Val Camonica” – attachment 1
This hymn can be freely used by competitors as a citation, theme and variation o in any other creative form.
The composition must be written considering the following musical instruments:
Piccolo; Flute 1-2; Oboe 1; Clarinet 1-2-3; Alto Clarinet (opt.); Bass Clarinet; Bassoon; Alto Saxophone 1-2; Tenor Saxophone; Baritone Saxophone; Trumpet
1-2, (3rd opt.); Horn 1-2; Trombone 1-2; Euphonium (Bass Clef); Tuba; Percussion: Mallets (Glockenspiel/Xylophone); Timpani; Snare/Bass Drum,
Cymbals, Auxiliary Instruments – max 2 players
Ethnic instruments can be used, provided they can be replaced with traditional instruments.
Composition must be no more than 6,30 minutes long.
