EMERGE: 3-Day New Music Reading Virtual Workshop + Virtual Concert

The award-winning Julius Quartet presents EMERGE – a three-day new music laboratory and concert webinar that will host daily reading sessions, masterclasses (such as writing for the string quartet), extended string techniques, and Q&A’s with industry-leading musicians.

Composers of any age, gender, and nationality are invited to submit a new or previously composed work not to exceed 10 minutes in length. The work may be a movement or excerpt of a larger work and it may have previously been performed. EMERGE will accept up to 10 composers and provide detailed insight of their works through detailed workshopping and performing.

At the end of the three-day workshop, The Julius Quartet will host a virtual concert of all selected works. Furthermore, each day of the workshop and concert will be professionally recorded. Each session and performance will be separated by composer and sent to each participant for their own personal use (i.e. Website exposure, SoundCloud, similar-free platforms). Commercial sale of the work performed at the workshop by The Julius Quartet is excluded.
