Guidelines
1. Pieces should not be longer than 7 minutes.
2. Composers may submit a solo work, a chamber work (2-4 performers, 1 banjoist), or one of each. Please do not submit multiple works of one category. If submitting for both calls, please submit two separate forms!
3. Submissions should be originally conceived for the 5-string banjo. Please do not submit arrangements of works for other instruments.
4. Submissions should be idiomatic. Check out my guide on composing for banjo here: https://banjocomposing.wordpress.com/
5. Chamber submissions will be judged on unique and interesting instrumentation choices.
One solo work and one chamber work will be selected as winners. Winning composers will receive a performance of their work, a high-quality recording, and $250 USD each.
Additionally, a TBD number of honorable mentions will be selected. These works will receive either a recording or performance.
