Composer Roundtable: Beyond the Screen. Art in X-Reality.
Speakers: Marina Poleukhina (Russia), Simone Cardini (Italy), Kaito Nakahori (Japan) and Arturo Corrales (Switzerland).
Moderation: Yuri Akbalkan
What does it mean to be an artist in x-reality? How and how much does the virtual world on the other side of the screen affect our perception, influence us, attract or repulse us? Most of us are busy populating virtual space with avatars: on Twitter, on Facebook, on our YouTube channels, on SoundCloud, on SecondLife, on a personal website, and then there’s also our physical body. X-reality, or cross-reality, refers to a world that is neither virtual nor real, a zone where different dimensions and phenomena intersect. There will be an exchange of musings and opinions on this and other topics concerning the extensions of ourselves, living with technology and different forms of representation in art and society.
Short talks will be followed by a discussion in English.
