Now in its 45rd season, the Society for Chamber Music in Rochester is again holding a Young Composer Competition. The competition is open to undergraduate and graduate music students enrolled at a college or university located in New York State. The competition offers an award of $1,000 and performance on a Society for Chamber in Music Rochester concert. Compositions may be up to 15 minutes in duration. All submissions are to be submitted electronically in PDF format and must include both score and parts. Recordings (synthesized or live) of the composition must accompany the application as MP3 files. SUBMISSIONS SHOULD BE SENT VIA E-MAIL TO: SCMRcompetition@gmail.com. Scores should be anonymous (remove anything that identifies the composer). Receipt deadline is March 1, 2022.
