We invite Washington state students grades 7-12 to compose a new work for this year’s guest ensemble, the TORCH Collective Quartet (clarinet, trumpet, double bass, and vibraphone/percussion). Three winning works will be chosen by the ensemble for performance on a Festival concert and recording in WSU’s state-of-the-art recording studio, and their composers will be awarded a $250 honorarium and have the opportunity to participate in all festival events.
Submissions are due by January 1, 2022. There is no submission fee. Rather than emailing files, please share a link to a PDF of the score and, if available, an mp3 of a recording (MIDI is perfectly acceptable) using a platform like GoogleDrive or Dropbox.
