Composition course reMusik.org announces additional call for composers

The Saint Petersburg Contemporary Music Center «reMusik.org» announces the VI St. Petersburg International New Music Festival, taking place from May 21st till June 2nd, 2021. Within the framework of the 2021 festival, reMusik.org offers a composition course which will be held from May 21st — June 3rd in St. Petersburg, Russia. This creative composing lab is an exciting opportunity for young and emerging composers from around the world.

Several composers will be selected to participate at the composition course reMusik.org.
Throughout the course, composers participate in workshops, masterclasses, concerts and have an opportunity to work with prominent ensembles, along with individual lessons with famous composers invited for this year’s festival.

Selected composers will participate in the festival’s events, master classes, reading sessions and workshops, as well as receive a professional live recording of their work at one of the festival concerts. Participants will spend the day learning techniques, gaining ideas, and trying new things out with a focus on composing under direction esteemed faculty: Oscar Bianchi (Switzerland), Pierluigi Billone (Italy), Raphaël Cendo (France), Klaus Lang (Austria), Sarah Nemtsov (Germany), Sergej Newski (Russia), Stefan Prins (Belgium) and Alexander Radvilovich (Russia).

Even though the festival will take place offline in Saint Petersburg, in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s possible to take part in the composition course as online.

The festival will be held in distinguished venues around the city. Internationally-renowned ensembles will be performing, such as recherche (Germany), Schallfeld (Austria), Konus Quartett (Switzerland), Ensemble C Barré (France), Studio for New Music Ensemble (Russia), Ensemble SEV (Israel), Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble (Russia), GAM-Ensemble (Russia), and more.
