New Works for Solo Viola Project

Canadian violist Emily Hiemstra is pleased to support emerging composers in championing and performing new works in 2021. These new works for solo viola will be programmed and performed in fall 2021 in a digital format, owing to the constraints of COVID-19.

Composers are invited to submit proposals for a new 3-5 minute work for solo viola from February 1 to March 1. There will be a total of 6 selected composers, who will be notified of selection by March 15.

There will be two selected composers from each of the following categories;

1) members of the Association of Canadian Women Composers
2) Canadian composers
3) International composers

Please have all materials clearly labelled with your name. Written materials must be in PDF format. Links are preferred for sample recordings.
