Max Workshop Overview
Session A: 2 weekends, beginner-intermediate
July 16–18, 24–25
Session A is an immersive crash-course with Charles Nichols & Christopher Dobrian (author of Max Cookbook). The goal of this session is to teach participants basic-to-intermediate Max programming techniques. Whether you are an absolute beginner or come equipped with some pervious experience, this session will empower you to expand your workflow and create example patches for later reference.
This session may be taken as a standalone session or as part of the full intensive (prorated tuition applied).
Session B: (5 days + concert, intermediate-advanced)
July 26–31
Session B is a continuation of the Session A, with the added goal of creating a functional, live patch as part of a composition to be premiered at the festival. This session will explore a fuller range of topics and will empower you to pragmatically dissect and implement creative ideas.
Dobrian and Nichols will present a range of computer music topics, including:
Digital Audio — input/output, synthesis, recording, looping, processing, and spatialization
MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) data for musical control

We look forward to more great concerts, discovering new music, networking, and hosting composers and performers from around the world!
