In accordance with the aesthetics and ideas inherent to Klexos, the course proposes an interdisciplinary training that includes the refinement of writing for acoustic and electronic instruments, as well as the use of new media and performative elements applied to stage creation. Students will have composition classes with Marko Ciciliani, technological experimentation workshops with Pedro González and reading sessions and a concert with the ensembles Mosaik and Klexos. Also this year, composers who wish to participate in the composition contest “Klexoslab 2021″ will be able to do so.
Open Call:
Composers who wish to participate in the reading sessions will send the sketches or finished scores they want to work on with the ensembles before June 18. They will be reviewed and worked on with Marko Ciciliani online and then resubmitted with the agreed changes by June 28.
Works for the following instrumental ensembles may be submitted:
Ensemble Mosaik- Any combination of the following instruments: cello, violin, flute, electronics.
Klexos- Any combination of the following instruments: soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones, electronics/multimedia.
(Proposals that work with improvisation, performance, as well as interdisciplinary projects are accepted. It is advisable to contact the organization prior to the closing date of the open call to check the feasibility of the proposal).
KLEXOSLAB 21” competition:
“KlexosLab 21” arises as a stimulus to the creation for national or international composers who participate in the IV edition of the course “KlexosLab” and for the achievement of its main objectives: providing a professional opportunity for young composers and to extend the repertoire of new contemporary music creations.
