The Benjamin V. Cohen Peace Conference is accepting proposals for music and multimedia works. The conference will be taking place over Zoom. Music will be interspersed with paper and panel presentations. Performances can be live or played back from YouTube, Vimeo, etc. and will be limited to 5 minutes in duration. Videos may include animated visuals, dance, or recordings of live performances.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Building a Beloved Community”, a term popularized by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. referring to a society based on justice, equal opportunity, and love of one’s fellow human beings.
Ball State University’s Center for Peace and Conflict Studies organizes the biannual Benjamin V. Cohen Peace Conference as an opportunity to gather community activists, students, faculty, and scholars from all disciplines to present their strategies, research, and recommendations related to peacemaking and peace-building.
We welcome submissions from all participants regardless of institutional affiliation, nationality, age, etc. Submissions are limited to one per applicant. There is no submission fee, however selected applicants will be required to register for the conference. The deadline for applications is March 1st, 2021. Please email a link to musicbenjamincohenconference@gmail.com of a YouTube video where your material can be accessed for adjudication purposes.
