New works for chamber orchestra and symphony orchestra. Never previously performed in whole or part and never awarded. Chamber orchestra: 2.2.2.2/ 2.2.0.0./ timps and perc (2 players)/ 6.6.4.4.2. Can be solely for strings. Symphony orchestra: 3.3.3.3/ 4.3.3.1/ Timps and perc (up to 3 players), harp/pno/ 8.8.6.5.4. For both, instruments may be omitted but no additional instruments. 10 – 20 mins. One work per composer. Send scores both by pdf and also hard copy. Anon entry. Entry fee: CHF 55. A shortlist of 6 works in each category will be chosen for performance 8 – 12 Feb 2023 in Basel. Composers must attend rehearsals and concert. Hotel and transport will be provided. Each shortlisted composer receives CHF 1000. Prizes: CHF 60,000; 25,000, 10,000 + audience prize of 5,000.
