The theme of the 2021 festival is “Re-Create”. We actively encourage compositions in which pieces are re-interpreted by composers’ new idea of traditional music from around the world, classical music, or folk songs from each country.
Guideline for Submission
Step.1
a. Eligibility: Composers from all over the world
– regardless of age or nationality
b. Theme: “Re-Create”
– Re-interpreted traditional music (folk songs, classical music, etc.)
c. Submission could be both new work or previous performed work
d. One score per each composer allowed to submit
e. Length of work: 8 to 12 minutes
Step.2
Category 1 : Chamber Orchestra
a. Instrumentation
2 Flutes, 1 Oboe, 1 Clarinet, 1 Bassoon, 2 Horns, 2 Trumpets, 1 Trombone Strings(15 players: 5-4-3-2-1)
b. Orchestration min.20 to max.25 players in above instruments
c. Concerto for solo instrument (in category 1,2) is possible
Category 2 : Chamber Music
a. Instrumentation
– 2 Flutes, 1 Oboe, 1 Clarinet, 1 Bassoon, 2 Violins, 1 Viola, 1 Cello, 1 Double Bass, 1 Piano, 1 Daegeum, 1 Piri/Taepyeongso, 1 Haegeum, 1 Gayageum, 1 Korean-Percussion
b. No more than 8 players in above instruments (solo is allowed)

2. Production of high-quality video/audio recording
3. Opportunity to commission for NMK 2022-23 season of excellent composer
