Ensemble Ecoute Composition Competition

With the aim of encouraging contemporary music, discovering young composers from all over the world and promoting their music, the Ensemble Écoute launches the Fifth Edition of the Ensemble Écoute Composition Competition.

Open to composers of all nationalities, born after January 1, 1986, the candidates will have to submit TWO works for an ensemble of 5 to 16 instruments of free duration. (Pieces must be written after January 1st 2018)

The prize-winning composer will receive 1500 euros to write a new piece of about 10/12 minutes for 6 to 8 musicians (instrumentation to be confirmed). The new piece will be premiered at one of the concerts of the 2022/23 or 2023/24 season of the Ensemble in Paris.

The competition submission works and application must arrive no later than Tuesday, 15th , November 2022 by email at the following address : e.e.concourscomposition@gmail.com.

The jury will be conformed by composers Stefano Gervasoni, Martin Matalon, Mathieu Bonilla (composer in residence 2020/22) and the artistic directors of the Ensemble, Fernando Palomeque and Rachel Koblyakov.

To participate, the candidate must become an adherent to the Association Ensemble Écoute for 2022 through an online payment of a 20€ fee.
