WORKSHOPS, MASTERCLASSES, LESSONS
The composition program features daily workshops and masterclasses hosted by the Composer-in-Residence and resident faculty covering a wide range of topics from compositional craft to career development. Participants will also receive one-on-one private lessons with the Composer-in-Residence, the resident faculty, and distinguished guests. An optional add-on electronic and acoustic music production mini course run by faculty member J Anthony Allen, in partnership with Slam Academy (https://slamacademy.com/) is available.
PERFORMANCE AND PROFESSIONAL RECORDING
Participants of the composition program will be invited to compose a new work of up to five (5) minutes for The Estrella Consort (or a subset of the groups instrumentation: soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophone). Each work will be premiered on an afternoon festival concert, and subsequently recorded as part of a dedicated, professional recording session at the end of the week. All participants will receive an edited, 24 bit/48Khz stereo master of their work on completion of the program (raw ProTools muti-track stems may be made available on request).
ELIGIBILITY
There is no fee to apply, and the program is open to composers of any age, nationality, and at any stage of their career.
