El Cor Canta is a choral formation of an amateur nature and made of more than 140 singers of different ages, training and musical experience.
The competition focuses on the composition of original works on text that will be determined in each edition and for a group made up of an orchestra, a choir and a soprano soloist.
The International Composition Competition for Choir and Orchestra EL COR CANTA is open to all without restrictions of age or origin. There are no registration fees.
There are two categories:
-Professionals
for those born before 01/01/1986
-Young composers
for those born after 31/12/1985.
The minimum amount of the prizes will be 3.000€ in the Professional category; 2.000€ in the Young Composer.
The winning works will be announced as of 30 April 2021.
The winning works will be premiered when El Cor Canta determines that the circumstances caused by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic allow for it, possibly during the spring of 2022.
