Call for Submissions: 16th International Academy of Young Composers in Tchaikovsky City

Tchaikovsky City, Russia — The International Academy of Young Composers is proud to announce an open call for its 16th edition, taking place from September 1 to September 15, 2026. This prestigious program offers an intensive residency for emerging creators, featuring masterclasses, individual lessons, and high-profile performances. The Academy will host a series of concerts, lectures, and group presentations led by a faculty of internationally-renowned composers. The program culminates in a final concert series featuring the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble (MCME), Vacuum String Quartet, and N’Caged.

Selection and Participation:
The jury will select 22 young composers (12 students, 3 trainees, and 7 observers) from across the globe. Selected participants will have their new works premiered in both Tchaikovsky City (September 13–14) and Moscow (September 16–17).
To ensure global accessibility, international participants may choose to take part in person or online via Zoom. For those attending in person, the Academy covers all food, accommodation, and domestic transport within Russia (from Moscow).

Interested applicants must submit the following:
Full name and place of birth
Short biography (max. 150 words)
2–3 scores (pdf) and 2–3 recordings
A professional photograph
Note: All portfolios must be submitted via active, unrestricted links valid until June 30, 2026.
