Saint Petersburg Contemporary Music Center “reMusik.org” announces the 4th International Sergei Slonimsky Composition Competition. This will be an opportunity for young and talented composers from all over the globe to perform their music within the framework of the 7th St. Petersburg International New Music Festival which will be held from May 25 to June 1, 2020. The nominated works will be performed by the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble (MCME). Scores of the prize winners will be published by the St. Petersburg Contemporary Music Center “reMusik.org” publishing house.
The competition is limited to “Chamber Music” and the submitted compositions must a combination of the following or all of the following instruments:
Flutes (Piccolo, Flute, Alto Flute, Bass Flute);
Clarinet or Bass Clarinet;
Piano;
Violin;
Cello;
Electronics.
The length of the compositions must be between 5 and 15 minutes.
Every composition must be written for at least two musicians.
The competition will consist of two rounds: the selection round and the finals. During the selection round, 3 finalists will be chosen.
There is no application fee. All materials must be submitted no later than Monday, 20th April 2020 through the online application form.
