Alexandra Filonenko graduated from Moscow State Conservatory P. I. Tchaikovsky at the composition department under Edison Denisov and Vladimir Tarnopolski.

She was a composer-in-residence of Akademie der Künste Berlin, Akademie Schloss Solitude, Künstlerhaus Schreyahn, Musikakademie Rheinsberg, Casa Baldi (Italy). She is the winner of the composition competitions, such as “Working with Arditti”, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Contemporary Oper Berlin / Operare (Young Musician “Rapunzel”), Young Euro Classics.

Her works were performed by Ensemble Ascolta, Ensemble Aleph, Kairos Quartet, Arditti Quartet, New Vocalists, Soloists of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Studia Neue Musik (Moscow), Maulwerker, eNsemble (S-Petersburg), KNM (Berin), soloists of the Musica Aeterna Choir, Daniel Gloger, Henja Semmler, Natalia Pschenitchnikova and others.

Her music was performed at Festival Musica Nova, Gaudeamus Music Week (Amsterdam), Academy of Arts (Berlin), Moscow Autumn, Unheard of Music (BKA Berlin), Festival Ultraschall, March music, Summer in Stuttgart, Eclat, Dyagilev Festival, Musicdate Schwaz, Young Euro Classics, Klangwerkstatt Berlin, Salzburg Biennale, ISCM, music of the centuries, and others.

In 2016 was published her first CD “NACKT” by music label FANCYMUSIC. Alexandra Filonenko is a freelance composer and lives in Berlin.
