Gleb Khokhlov was born in the city of Perm March 11, 1992. He began studying the violin at five
years in the 10th music school in the city of Perm, teacher of Lyudmila Shteynikova.
From 2004 to 2011 he studied at the Ural College of Music (Ekaterinburg) in the class of Honored Artist of Russia, senior lecturer Associate Professor Ural State Conservatory Helena Latsuk.
Graduated with Honors in Juny 2016 from the Moscow State Conservatory in the classes of
Professor Alexander Melnikov (violin) and Marina Katarzhnova (baroque violin).
In 2018 Gleb Khokhlov has complete the postgraduate studies of the Moscow Tchaikovsky
Conservatory in Department «Orchestra of Contemporary Music» under prof. Vladimir Tarnopolsky
In August 2014 visited the Academy of Chamber Music in England – British Island Music Festival
(BIMF – 2014).
Since 2015 is a member of Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble (MCME).
Since November 2015 is a regular participant of festival of Contemporary music «Moscow Autumn».
In 2017 founded string quartet Vacuum, specialised in contemporary music performing.
In August 2017 and 2019 – participated in the Luzern Orchestra Academy of the contemporary music.
In July 2018 – won the Academy of Baroque music in Austria (Gmunden)
Gleb Khokhov performed with such outstanding musicians as Alexey Lyubimov, Mikhail Dubov, Vladislav Pesin, Diego Tosi, Ilya Korol. He has attended master – classes by Ilya Korol (Austria, baroque violin), Ruben Dubrovski (Austria), Dmitry Sitkovetsky (Russia – the USA, violin), Francesco D’Orazio (Italy), Diego Tosi (France, Entercomporain ensemble), Jean – Mari Konkuir (France, Entercomporain ensemble), Christorfer Otto (USA, Jack Quartet).
Gleb has performed a lot of Russian premiers of contemporary composers works as a soloist and chamber musician. Among them thera are works by Georg Friedrich Haas, Helmut Lachenmann, Oscar Bianchi, Carola Bauckholt, Sergej Newski, Dmitri Kourliandski and others.

The 12th St. Petersburg International New Music Festival, the largest annual forum of contemporary classical music in Russia and one of the most comprehensive platforms for global new music events. It will be held from May 23 to June 7, 2025. Organized by the St. Petersburg Contemporary Music Center ‘reMusik.org’ under the direction of the artistic director and prominent composer Mehdi Hosseini, the festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Government of St. Petersburg, and the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.

The two-week festival will showcase over 70 diverse artistic events. Concerts will take place at premier music venues across the beautiful city of St. Petersburg. In addition to the many concerts, the festival will also feature online and offline educational programs, presentations, round table discussions, lectures, composer readings, creative meetings, and educational programs called “Composer Courses” for young authors from around the world that are led by prominent teachers from around the globe. Additionally, there will be a laboratory dedicated to improvisational and experimental music.

The St. Petersburg International New Music Festival is a unique event within Russia’s musical culture. It encompasses various aspects of modern academic music, including experimental, electroacoustic, electronic music, multimedia projects, sound art, as well as’ free improvisation’. The presentation format is not limited to traditional academic concerts, but goes beyond it by incorporating diverse performances and experimental shows.
