The Peter Eötvös Contemporary Music Foundation is announcing a mentoring program for young professional conductors and composers for 2020. Leading professors of the program: Peter Eötvös (conductor, composer) and Gregory Vajda (conductor, composer). Application Deadline: 15 February 2019.
Time of Music Festival offers in the summer 2019 interesting opportunities to study contemporary music with the world’s first and foremost composers, pedagogues and musicians. We welcome all interested music students and young professionals, both composers and musicians to deepen their knowledge of the classics of contemporary music and enhance their skills in composition and improvisation.
The Composition Course gives participants access to distinguished composers, workshops, composition lessons, lectures and master classes while affording each participant ample time to compose in a relaxed environment and enjoying from the festival concerts.

mdi ensemble and Accademia Filarmonica Romana promote for the first time New Music Week, a new initiative dedicated to contemporary music. It consists of a week-long workshop, from May 20th to 25th 2019.
New release is a work created by use of the experimental ways exploring modular synthesizer, vibromotors, cymbals and drums effects. The interest of presented work relates to the use of error signals obtained in solving forecasting problems with a linear neural network for constructing a musical composition.
Farewell to a Friend — vocal scene based on the Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh. This musical and poetic composition has a tragic philosophical implication, not connected with any particular historical epoch or a narrative situation.
The Saint-Petersburg Contemporary Music Center reMusik.org announces the VI St. Petersburg International New Music Festival «reMusik.org», taking place from May 20th – 26th, 2019.
The festival will be held in distinguished venues around the city, including the Mariinsky Theatre Concert Hall, the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater, St. Ann’s Church, Masterskaya M. K. Anikushina, and the St. Petersburg State Conservatory.
This year’s festival coincides with the famous White Nights Season. Internationally-renowned ensembles will be performing, including: ensemble für neue musik zürich (Switzerland), Garage Ensemble (Germany), Chronos (Cyprus), Ensemble for New Music Tallinn (Estonia), Studio for New Music Ensemble (Russia), Makrokosmos Quartet (Switzerland), and more.
Among this season’s highlights is a new professional training program focusing on the creation and performance of new works by emerging composers. The 20 young resident composers from all over the world are chosen through a portfolio application process. Each resident will write a new piece to be premiered by inviting ensembles at the festival. They will also take part in rehearsals, have composition lessons with guest composers at the festival, and give presentations on their works.
